Good News Lutheran community was established in 1977 as a community of people who wanted to worship together and help build the Centenary community, particularly by providing holistic support for children and their families. The Kindergarten, which commenced at the same time, continues strong and vibrant to this day, with some of our original students enrolling their own children! Good News Lutheran School commenced in 1984 and continues to be well regarded locally as a caring school with quality educational programs, and a leader in Lutheran education circles.
Beyond the primary years, we have our own youth ministry programs and also participate in Lutheran Youth of Queensland camps. Our congregation is truly multi-generational, and our small groups cover a range of ages and interests.
A contemporary worship service is held at 9:30am on (almost) every Sunday and a traditional 8:00am service is offered on most Sundays. (Check our worship times for this week.) We would love you to make yourself at home at whichever worship style is more meaningful for you.
Our original worship space was part of the current Kindy building, and then in 2001 we opened a shared worship space within the Good News Lutheran School campus. Here Good News community gathers to worship on Sundays and at school chapel and to provide caring connections through various groups and everyday interactions.
As a group of people, we've had our high and low points over the years, but God's love and faithfulness never fail us.
Good News is a congregation of the Lutheran Church of Australia.
